meteorological stations network

The Atmosphere&Climate Dynamics Group (ACDG) operates a network of surface meteorological stations. The network is still under development and it includes 3 stations in Attiki and Peloponnesus, so far. The network is planning to expand by the end of the year 2014. The stations are installed in cooperation with the Institute of Environmental Research and Sustainable Development of the National Observatory of Athens (http://meteo.gr) and the Institute of Marine Biological Resources and Inland Waters of the Hellenic Centre for Marine Research. The characteristics of the stations are following.

1. Harokopio University: Installed on November 2007 at the university campus (37° 57' 39,55'' N, 23° 42' 27,57'' E, elevation: 37 m). Type LUFFT OPUSII with thermometer/hygrometer at 2 m, barometer, anemometer at 10 m and rain gauge at 5m. Recorded data time increment: 10 minutes.

2. Derveni-Northern Peloponnesus: Installed on February 4th, 2013 on the roof of Derveni Lyceum building (38° 08' 08'' N, 22° 25' 40'' E, elevation: 5 m). Type DAVIS Vantage PRO2 with thermometer/hygrometer at 2 m, barometer, anemometer at 2.5 m and rain gauge at 2 m. Recorded data time increment: 10 minutes.

3. Geraki-Southeastern Peloponnesus: Installed on June 28th, 2013 on the roof of Geraki Lyceum building (36° 59' 47'' N, 22° 41' 52'' E, elevation 330 m). Type DAVIS Vantage PRO2 with thermometer/hygrometer at 2 m, barometer, anemometer at 2.5 m and rain gauge at 2 m. Recorded data time increment: 10 minutes.
